Simple Chocolate Sauce

Ice cream with chocolate sauce – mmmm.  But most of us forgo the chocolate sauce because it is such a mission to make.  Well this is a simple, 3 ingredient sauce, that takes no longer than 10 minutes to make!

It is delicious, silky-smooth and indulgent.

This really is a go-to chocolate sauce for any dessert that deserves such indulgence!

AND it’s really easy – you do not need a double boiler, or temperature gauge, and it is basically foolproof!

I often make a batch in advance and just keep it in the fridge until I need it.  Just pop it onto the stove-top for a couple of minutes or heat in the microwave for a quick choc sauce.

Ingredients

  • 100g (1 slab) 70% cocoa Chocolate
  • 100ml Water (+ a bit extra incase the chocolate splits)
  • 2 Tbsp Icing Sugar

Instructions

  1. Put all the ingredients in a saucepan (large enough to hold it comfortably.
  2. Put the saucepan on low-medium heat on the stove-top and heat through until the chocolate is melted, stirring with a whisk until you have a silky-smooth sauce. If you want a thinner sauce, add a bit more water.
  3. If the chocolate splits, do not panic - just add a little more water and whisk well...add water (a little bit at a time) until the sauce comes together again.
